2020 EDITION:
Transformation
The technological transformation is here, it is time to renew the dynamics of the cultural sector.
For decades we have tried to define the world around us to create a sense of control over the environment, to avoid uncertainty. For decades we have feared change. We have been able to generate languages and structures, concepts and definitions but now we must be able to mutate, to transform.
We have learned to accept that transformation is necessary and that only through it can we generate new ideas, definitions, possibilities. We are a society that is increasingly aware that change is inherent in the processes that make up our daily lives.
We are going through moments of change in the management of artistic and cultural organizations and projects. Technology has had a profound impact on the dynamics of the sector. Creative and cultural industries, cultural policies, arts management, heritage, film industry, media, new technologies and cultural tourism, increasingly play a leading role in adapting to these new dynamics to boost the development of the sector.
It is time to approach this new reality from a perspective that makes change an opportunity to create value. OCArt Digital was born as a proposal that seeks to bring together talented creative professionals from around the world to invite society to rethink change and use it as a potential agent for the arts and culture sector.
OCArt Digital is a meeting where academics, cultural managers, students and agents of the sector will share experiences and knowledge in order to create synergies in the projects inherent to the development of the sector. It is a platform for connection and reflection on the opportunities faced by the different agents of the artistic and cultural field in the transition to the digital era.
